Founder & Principal Designer: Architecture + Interiors

Mindi Assoc. AIA 

Mindi Poston Gay has been practicing architecture and interior design for over 29 years.  Raised in the design mecca of Miami, Florida, she was surrounded by a family of artists, designers, builders and engineers that influenced her career in many ways. 

She is a graduate and awards recipient of the Boston Architectural College (BAC) with a degree in Architecture, the Herbert Glassman Award for outstanding professional and student work achievements and award for portfolio. She’s worked on complex projects at renowned architectural firms including Payette Associates, Boston, MA, EGA Architects, Newburyport, MA and high-end residential firms; Carpenter & MacNeille Architects, Essex, MA, and TMS Architects of Portsmouth, NH.

Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, New England Home Design Magazine, Design New England Magazine, Maine Home Design, Maine Homes Magazine (Down East), North Shore Magazine, Newburyport Magazine, The Boston Globe, USA Today Home Magazine, as well as Apartment Therapy, Discovery Channel and Planet Green Channel. 

She currently lives in Newburyport, MA with her husband and two sons. In her free time, she can be found foraging in nature and gathering inspiration from her home by the sea in mid-coast Maine, visiting contemporary art galleries where ever she travels and dabbling into her own art and furniture design projects. Art, Architecture + Design have always been her biggest passions.

Derek AIA, LEED AP, NCARB

Since earning his Bachelor of Architecture degree at Carnegie Mellon, Derek has worked in the field for over 29 years in a number of Boston’s leading architectural firms, including Bergmeyer, Arrowstreet, Prellwitz/Chilinski, and Dimella Shaffer and his own practice. Derek is licensed to practice architecture in Massachusetts and five other states and holds an NCARB certificate in good standing, reciprocal in most states. His focus on green initiatives helped him achieve an advanced LEED Certification -- A LEED Professional Credential provides the assurance of an individual’s current level of competence and is the mark of the most qualified, educated, and influential green building professionals in the marketplace.

With a lifetime love of architecture, finance and real estate development, Phin assists clients through the overall design/build process so MPG Home Design services are delivered in a way that provides optimal value.

Our goal is to help homeowners understand and evaluate potential costs, determine viability, and ensure that home investments aren’t just about building structures, but building equity in the home.

 

Interior Architectural Designer

Lauren

“Growing up, Lauren has been heavily involved in art and design. She began her college career concentrating in graphic design before she moved on to study interior architecture at Endicott College. She has also taken classes at the at the Boston Architectural College. Lauren is well versed in Adobe software including InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop, in addition to critical architectural programs like AutoCAD and Revit. She is continuously inspired by the environment and seeks to incorporate aspects of nature’s healing and restoration into the built environment. Lauren is committed to a practical and sustainable lifestyle which translates into her designs. While at Endicott College, Lauren’s design work was selected for the Student Showcase in Spring 2021, she is a recipient of Endicott’s Presidential Art Scholarship, and continues to gain recognition as a member of the Endicott Scholars program and Dean’s List. Before working at MPG Home Design, Lauren has had experience working for Joshua Allen Design and the Worcester Center for Crafts.”

Senior Architectural Designer & Construction Manager

Zac

Working alongside his Grandfather, Zachary grew up restoring residential homes in Andover, MA. A long history of deep appreciation of historic homes led to his enrollment at Boston Architectural College. To better understand the industry, Zachary worked for over a decade across a broad spectrum of construction roles honing his skills in both functional residential design, structural application, and building methods. Additionally, Zac has many years of experience in project management for firms such as the award-winning, Cambridge Design and Development, where he specialized in classic New England style homes with contemporary building standards. When not working on client projects, Zac works on his own, most recently embarking on the acquisition, design, and permitting of a historic school restoration and residential conversion. Zachary has a keen sense for sourcing, reclaiming, harvesting, and milling materials to provide unique and sustainable design elements.
